Introduction

“Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it”. What if there is another world different from ours? Where mobile phones are replaced by wands, abuse with curses and pets by magical creatures. Imagine if you could make things fly, even levitate your own self or take a ride on a broom! What a save of time it would be to just think of a place and apparate there within seconds! If you can transform a frog to a fish and a fish to a shark, it is likely that you are a wizard or witch my friend!

The Plot

Eleven year old Harry lives with, or is rather kept with Vernon and Petunia Dursley. Because Petunia, his mother’s sister, is his only living relative. Life isn’t easy for poor, orphan Harry and his cousin Dudley makes it even more miserable. Harry is mistreated, abused, loathed or simply ignored as if non existent, by the three Dursleys. So mostly, Harry is confined to his room which is basically the cupboard under the stairs. But things were about to change. Letters poured like rain in their house, each one addressed to Harry. Harry’s world was to flip upside down on his eleventh birthday. They were all dumbstruck when a flying motorbike arrives at their doorstep in the middle of the night and a man, the size of a half giant, hands Harry the letter the Dursleys were running away from. The letter is Harry’s ticket to the greatest school of witch craft and wizardry in the world- HOGWARTS. Harry is told that he isn’t an ordinary human being, he is a wizard. The adventure begins when Harry boards the Hogwarts Express. Everyone in the wizarding world knows his name- Harry Potter, The Boy Who Lived. The Hogwarts castle in its glory, welcomes the first years to the magical world. They are all sorted into houses- Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff and Ranvenclaw, named after the four founders of Hogwarts. Harry keeps struggling with his subjects at school. He is good at transfiguration and charms but hates potions because of the potion master, Severus Snape’s ability to humiliate him consistently. His bully, Draco Malfoy and his friends Crabbe and Goyle, never miss a chance to add even more humiliation and trouble to Harry’s plate. Hogwarts itself is a mystery. There are rooms and corridors restricted to students and the forbidden forest is home to secrets and beasts beyond imagination. There are cues, now and then, of which Harry couldn’t make sense. The scar on his forehead, shaped like a thunderbolt trickles every time there is danger lurking around him. In spite of tragedies, Harry is aware of his strengths, his best friends and fellow Gryffindors, Ron and Hermione and the mindful, the greatest wizard of the world and the headmaster of Hogwarts, Albus Dumbledore. The Dark Lord seeks power at all costs. He has his servants, the Death Eaters at his aid, who could murder on his command. But the Dark Lord is only half alive, weak and powerless. There is a connection between the Dark Lord and Harry, something that let’s them have similar powers. They are as similar as they are different. Nobody knows why and how. There are attacks and murders. Terror spreads throughout the magical world as the Dark Lord rises once again. He takes every chance to kill Harry because only Harry can defeat him. With each encounter with the Dark Lord, Harry discovers something about himself, his past, his long lost parents and his connection with the Dark Lord. Harry is unaware of his powers but desperate to know who he is and why and the reason for him being the CHOOSEN ONE. Every year a new mystery unveils itself, secrets unfold while Harry fights death. There is love and light, friendship and enmity, murder and mystery, a shower of spells and curses, dragons and fire, beasts both dangerous and beautiful, secrets and truth, wonder and horror, quidditch and……………… a lot of MAGIC!
