Though these scars are something we get so self conscious about, we even think that there are people staring at us and thinking that we are ugly but there is more to us than our scars. Scars tell us about the battles we have fought when we got them and also the battles which we fight daily after having them.

November 9 is an unputdownable love story between an aspiring writer and a girl who is unsure of what comes ahead in her life career wise.
A book which conveys how our scars don’t define us and how every story has two sides. And often we don’t try you know the other side of the story and end up making a huge mess of ourselves and the situation too.
BLURB
The story begins with Fallon O’ Neil getting into an argument in a restaurant booth with her father over her decision to move to New York to pursue her acting career. Her father reacts to this by saying that it would’ve been possible years ago but now since she got scars over her face, she no longer has the looks which are required for actors. On hearing this, Benton James Kessler also known as Ben moves beside Fallon in the booth and starts acting like her boyfriend only to defend her. On seeing this, Fallon first reluctant then gets along with the game. After that they both spend the day together before Fallon goes to New York and meet each other only on November 9th, every year without having any contact as in between and the story continues with both of them falling for each other.
Only when years passed did Fallon realize that it wasn’t fate which made her meet Ben but there was a story behind him finding her. And she starting developing thoughts that maybe Ben doesn’t love her and is just with her to find a plot twist for his book which he is writing…

● Forgiveness– sometimes we must forgive in order to continue on with the life we are living. Though it is important to understand that the person we are forgiving is important to us and that in future he or she won’t do anything to harm us in any way.
● Chance encounters– there are times when we meet people so out of the blue that later on when we recall back to meeting that person we often wonder how accidentally we met and how it was the best accident that has ever happened.
● Balance between love and life– Ben and Fallon both show how we can have control on our career and love both in our lives. Though being in totally different places they still managed to remain in love with each other and also lived the life they always wished for.
● Anger– often when we are angry, we end up doing things which we later regret and that thing can completely alter other people’s life too sometimes…
● Vulnerability– we all are vulnerable in different ways. And this is what makes us human and we shouldn’t be ashamed of it.
CHARACTERS
● Fallon O’ Neil– though being a bit concerned of her scars, Fallon still never gave up her dreams and continued to walk around to fulfill them. Indeed not everyone has the courage to face their own scars.
● Benton James Kessler– an aspiring writer and a person who makes you feel confident in your own skin. Though he made mistakes, he surely knows how to make up for them.
● Donovan O’ Neil– Fallon’s father, though he appears to be someone who doesn’t support her daughter’s choice but still he is the one who was just looking out for her daughter and stating facts without letting her hopes get up.

CONCLUSION
A unique plot of meeting once a year without any contact is what makes this book most special. This book holds a lot of potential in terms of its plot, twist and deep yet mature themes. Indeed like other Colleen Hoover’s work you will definitely need time to consume everything. And the characters’ mature behavior towards their career and relationships both are worth adoring.
